the storage remains the biggest hindrance,

if a large enough percentage of people use electric cars their batteries (prefferably low temperature molten salt batteries) can be used when connected to the grid to store electricity.

there is(or was, been a year or two) a pilot project in the netherlands, as far as i know it worked quite well even with a thousand cars and that was using inferior lipo or lead acid batteries.

as for actual power generation, the wind industrys biggest problem at the moment is off shore capacity, plenty of huge projects have been extended due to that.

most large players in that game are putting ships in the water on a monthly basis at this point.

Electric cars with batteries is not a bad idea, just realistically... Not worth it. Waiting between charges. Your estimated mileage might be less than the closest charging station.

I have nothing against these - but hydrogen fuel cells (or something similar - just woke up) is the better solution. Emission being water, which you could probably trap, filter and stick in another part of your car. (window washing) and you have the same advantage of petrol/gasoline cars.

Some electric cars just look horrible anyway. G-Wizz anyone?

true, range is an issue, they are far more effective though, you will need more electricity to drive the same distance if you use electricity to split the hydrogen and oxygen that is.

then there are the hydrogen storage issues, i think there were someone that found a way to bind the hydrogen to a salt, making it a lot easier to store and release safely.

The there's the Tesla. I saw one earlier this week parked in front of a restraunt near my house. That thing is a a sweet looking car. This one was pastel orange. Which is not my first pick for car color but, it looked awesome.
