I have an Asus Transformer Infinity with Android ver. 4.1.1 and I wondered if you could watch DVDs on it with an external DVD-rom drive without having to root it. I see programs that can read files from DVDs on android, but I think they were meant to be read from dvds ripped to a flash drive or flash card.

Why ask random people who don't know (I've developed for Android for years, and doing this has never occurred to me) when you can ask Google? I turned these up in 10 seconds or so:

Sounds like that samsung drive is the only answer. Nice to know at least one works on it. I read some later on that you just need a player like MXplayer that will read dvd files and there ya go.

Sorry for that... while doing much research several months ago, I did not encounter any android devices that could actually support a usb device...

Groovy... glad it's not hard to do
