Hey :) I've been trying to get the program MuseScore to work on my computer for a couple of days now, and I've *almost* got it. The problem is this: I have a patch of raw code that will fix the bug I've been having, but I don't know how to actually incorporate the patch into the program. Now, I love me some computers, but this is kind of beyond my depth. So I thought to myself "Where can I find someone with extremely detailed knowledge on a particular subject, who will be as detail-oriented as I am?" And, well, it was obvious after that :P

...I don't think this was a rude thing to post, but I'm not sure, so just tell me if I did something wrong!

There are different flavours of patches. It's hard to know what you have unless I see it. Here are how some patches work.
1. You doubleclick on it and direct it to your installation folder where it does its magic.
2. You replace the main executable with the patched one.
3. You doubleclick on the patch and it enters the functional program into the registry.
4. Some patches require you to be logged off the internet.
5. Some patches only work after you're right click on it and logged on as administrator.
6. Some patches require you to turn off your anti-virus program momentarily.

If you want, I have two music notation programs you can have for free - Capella Professional 7 and MagicScore Note 7.

Hmm... Applying patches should be straigh tforeward in this day and age. If the patch has loose files, find the executable file or setup file, double clicking that file should start a process or wizard to comfirm where to apply it, provided its properly coded. Loose filed patches can also can be copy pasted depending on each file in general or have a pesignated area for it within the program files, but this is usually reserved for advanced users.

Thanks guys - on review, it looks like I'd have to recompile the whole dang program to get it to work, so I think I shall take you up on your offer, redrobin62 :)
