If you can explain the point of this I would condone it, but since he just can boot camp his mac to linux it's kind of pointless to layer an operating system under an operating system under an operating system.. (I've never been good at jokes heh)

i thought macs were very compatible with older software anyway

Apple switched over to using Unix on their macs. They don't run pre-OSX software anymore, not the new ones anyways.

I support Apple Mac's only because they run on Darwin BSD which is UNIX.

My primary focus goes to Linux because with the right know-how, it can do more stuff than Windows and Mac combined.

This is not really too interesting since the guest OS isn't running natively, but is emulated. This could just as well have taken place on my x86 Linux box. (And I think that's what Vegasadelphia's comment refers to)
