An idea to help autistic people
Hello my fellow peeps on the spectrum, I have come to present an idea. This is an idea of a device to help people on the spectrum with everyday social interaction. I have already created a prototype of this idea, so it is feasible in practice. My idea is to construct a device to help people on the spectrum with social communication. It would consist of a device, like a set of glasses, that would help them by taking photos of their conversation partner and then analyze the photos with an API to determine things. These would include how happy/sad they were, how attentive they looked, and how interested they were in the convo. It would then display the info back to the person on their glass/lens, helping the user understand how the other person was feeling. It would essentially interpret the nonverbal social cues for them.
Does this sound like something you would buy and would it be helpful for your purposes? Your feedback would be most appreciated.

Some people would take umbrage at being imaged and recorded. It is much more polite for you to remember what they looked like and if necessary consult a psychology book about body and face language. That is what I did. It took me till my mid twenties to finally figure out other people's body and face language.

Regarding legality of this: it is legal to take photos of anyone (including children) in public, as per the criminal code (this applies only to America). However, photos and videos on private property may not be allowed (given at the discretion of the property owner).
