Boy, am I glad I'm moving from mine next week.

Here's a speed test I did today (for a 2MB ADSL line):

tequila, have you tried scanning for adaware or spyware, viruses and clearing out cookies and temp files(if you use windows) that might also help speed up the adsl

I use a Mac, so there's nothing sucking away energy. I get on my new ISP on Monday morning - instead of getting 250kbps I should end up with more like 7000kbps download. :)

This speed test has some unreliable mirrors:

I'll be moving to ADSL24, one of the best ISPs there is. On Monday morning my Internet heart will be pleased more and more by the hugely improved Internet connection. Zoom!

alex: I know it's a little unreliable. I'll hunt round for another one soon.

From nearly 3 weeks ago, but can't be bothered doing new tests to say the same thing:

Hendikins, are you on Bigpond's Cable Extreme? Because they're some pretty good speeds you're getting...

.. new test with P2P turned off.

EDIT - and I see you're on the 'other' WP too...

My primary link is, my secondary link is 1.5/256 ADSL with Internode. See my Whirlpool user profile for details.

My download speed appears to of gone up when I chose the Fredrick one. Even though I am much closer to DC hmmm. I don't know what any of this really means. But, I heard in finland some lady had a download speed of 1gb.

Here's my result:

This is not the whole truth though -- I know my connection is good for a full ten megabits/sec both ways, so there's got to be a few "bottlenecks" out there...

The closer server seems to be slower, but a lot of this depends on traffic

It's ok, but not great. I do like that it is pretty consistent though.

says easynet, but thats because it's their servers,it's sky broadband, have got it running wirelessly and networked but mostly have the connection to self, and have found it to be a very reliable ISP.
