If it's coming from my head and I'm awake, around 80ish wpm. But if I'm having to take a typing test and try and read, then comprehend, then type, it's only about 25-30.

Average 40-50 over a few tests. Not that fast then.

Interesting...
Reading what I'm typing makes me type faster.

I had an average of 85wpm on that test. However, whenever a number came up, I made mistakes and slowed down a bit.

Accuracy: 93%

Gross Speed: 33 WPM
(words/minute)

I guess that sucked.

Same here. I never learned to type numbers, just letters and punctuation.

I generally get about 50 WPM on most tests, and accuracy is not too great. I make a lot of typos if I try to type fast. bleh

About fifty words per minute... not too shabby as I only use four of my finger to type. Heh heh heh.

I am horrible! I type 39 words per minute with 95% accuracy. I have never had a typing class. I have been hunting and pecking for about 20 years. I guess I could use one of those programs to improve my typing, but I don't know how useful that would be.

Well, I actually took the test now and got exactly 50 WPM net speed and 98% accuracy. Kinda surprised about the accuracy, but 50 WPM is kinda slow. I hear of many people getting 80~100 or more WPM. I should be a LOT better based on how much I type and spend time on the computer.

I think if it's coming from my head it's considerably quicker, though. I kinda lagged a lot during the test when names and stuff came up. The trouble with text coming from my head, though, is it often takes me some time to form a sentence, or complete a sentence. I'll often pause for several seconds between each sentence or parts of a sentence turning my thoughts in to words. (Kinda hilarious to hear me talk sometimes, because the same crap happens and I sound stupid. I compared it to listening to a stream over dial-up. :D)

I used a computer program called "Stamina" to learn how to type some years ago. There's nothing really interesting about the program though, so I don't know how much it'd help you.

BTW, I'm surprised about this 'lag' some of you are having with 'processing' what you read, because I never have that problem. :?
