Yes, 'guys' in this context is usually genderless
I know, that's why I assumed ;)
In Dutch we actually do the same.

I couldn't vote, xp and 7 are both decent, I modify any system that I get so it matters most to me how malleable to my will they are :P

Cost wise, a new computer with windows 7 is better and will be pushed with other technology compatabilities too

Reliability wise and experience wise, XP is better known and what kinks there are all have at least some sort of fix

I have XP on all my computers, tried Vista but I wasn't too impressed, except in a way Micro-Soft did not intend......

Don't forget about *BSD!!

OS X is BSD.

No s**t. Its based on FreeBSD and Mach, both of which originate from BSD. The only thing in XNU (Mac OS X kernel) that doesn't originate from BSD is I/O Kit.

If you're going to build on s**t, that's all you'll get. Windows Seven is built on s**t, ie Vista...

It seems as though MS are implementing limitiations with their operating systems.

Vista Home can go as high as ... 8GB RAM more than XP as 4GB?
Windows XP with PAE enable can use 36bit addressing pushing it's limits to 64GB RAM
All other versions of Vista can go up to 128GB RAM just like Windows Server 2003/ XP x64.
Windows Seven can go up to 192GB RAM. But the architecture of 64bit allows 16EB RAM (16,000,000,000GB)

I'm better other operating systems do not allow this limit but maybe produce a patch/fix to fix this as the limit comes ever nearer

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, but f*** windows. I only use it for games. Now, if someone could get a good emulation layer going, or even better true *Nix and OSX games, I'd be so far off the windoze boat. Though, having at least one doze box will keep me current for work.

Really, Solaris?

I believed I used Solaris once or twice. Not too bad from what I seen. However beyond that I don't know.

I thought Solaris was either a strange book, or movie...George Clooney, wasn't it?...;)

That was the remake by Jame$ Cameron. The best version of that was the one made by Andrei Tarkovsky in 1972.
