So it is all about profits... and increasing it...

Sigh.

Well, that is a reasonable motive for a corporation. I dont have a problem with the ends... maybe the means.

I still refuse to use any Mac-based OS, since their stuff in general is wayy too overpriced. And I tend to deeply hate the design of their stuff.

I have always been a Lindows person (linux and windows xp, I use both depending on what im doing.)

as for office? I dont use it. I use sun microsystems openoffice (with plugins and stuff, it is in my opinion a hell of a lot more powerful than microsoft office.)

Ive always built my own computers, only ever bought one copy of windows (of course, ive installed the same copy on like 10 different computers. So yeah, illegal, I dun care though. I bought it so ill do with it as I please regardless of what Micro$$$ says)

part of their problems is that for most people, XP does just fine.

I really don't like the idea of renting software. I'd pay for it once, and then it's mine to use as intended. To have to pay over and over (and, like mortgages, etc., cost you a lot more in the end)

Yes, they been in trouble since 1998 during the Antitrust act. Now Microsoft can't package Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player as default operating system programs in Europe.(They have to give a choice for Mozilla Firefox, Itunes, Open-Sourced alternatives and so on.) Not to mention as of a few days ago they can't sell Office. Oh and not to mention all the lawsuits they are getting. Oh the the manufacturers of netbooks and low-cost computers are getting very feed up with Microsoft due to the licensing complications with XP Home and 7 Starter. Heck more and more budget PC's are starting to see Linux Distros. Acer is even advising the tech world that it will slowly start deploying Ubuntu and other software on its computers.

I can go on about the French Police Department saving millions by switching entirely to Ubuntu but I have better things to do.

Ohhhh yes! The market is ripe for Apple to take the lead, now!

Let's face it, Microsoft dug themselves into this. I mean, just look at Vista! LOOK AT IT! And look at the price! For the price of Vista Ultimate, you could have got a Mac Mini!

Now, Windows 7 is better, but still not to standards really, is it? Crap is a word again crossing my mind. Still unsecure, still has the registory, and still costs too much! For the price of Windows 7 Ultimate, you can buy a PC laptop anyway. Lets also not forget that it's still nothing more than a OS X knock-off, Microsoft said so!

For a long time now, Microsoft have survived off of the back of Office - it accounted for 50% of sales, I read. Now they will suffer big time.

Anyway, in other news, I wonder when that tablet Mac will be out? 8)

In 5 years time, a tablet Mac is enough for Apple to move and shake the world... we will never expect what will be the next moves of Apple. :)
