You'll probably also want to check out morph os which is amiga compatable, and more actively developed.

Keep in mind that both os's are a lot slimmer and more efficient, a program that requires 32 megs on windows will run on an amiga system with only 8 megs. So, I wouldn't worry too much about having the latest and greatest hardware, especially if your not sure if your gonna like it yet.
