Outline for a unifying theory... I need help fleshing it out
Funny, I also have a grand unifying theory. It's more on the biology side of things and derives principles from biology and shows how they are universal in countless other branches of knowledge.
That's 3 of us in this thread with such theories. I guess it's an autistic thing and our habit of seeing patterns?!
Perhaps some day we can get together and make a unified theory of unified theories?
Let's assume for the moment that you really have discovered a grand unification.
Why on earth would you reveal it and ask for help on website for Asperger's?????? That makes absolutely no sense. You need to take it to the physics department of a major university. If your theory legitimately holds water, they will get it very quickly.

The vast majority of such schemes are nonsense, anyway. The physicists at any major university would likely just roll their eyes and refuse to see anyone. To get their attention, there would need to be some reason for them to take you seriously and without credentials that is unlikely to happen.
The best way would be to write it up and send it to a peer reviewed journal. In all likelihood, whatever you sent would end up in the trash pretty fast and you might actually get a courteous reply form letter telling you that it isn't something they wish to publish. But if there is promise to the idea, it will get attention.
But any paper sent to them has to be done quite solidly.
Someone who is so scared of being deprived of recognition for their idea doesn't really have an idea worth recognizing.

Alternatively, it could be uploaded to arxiv (dot) org. Someone will probably at least glance at it there although most likely no one will take it seriously. Peer reviewed journals range from pure garbage to ones that only accept excellent papers so make sure the journal has a good reputation. If you publish in many so-called peer reviewed journals, you'll get less attention then you would from just using arxiv (which is of course also faster and easier). Arxiv is very popular among physics researchers and is probably read more widely than any given journal.
By the way, it's quite possible that your theory sounds plausible at an "intuitive" level but will fall apart once you attempt to formalize it. Formalizing a theory can be very non-trivial and is not as immediate and you might think. If you haven't already, I would strongly suggest learning what is known about physics throughly before you attempt to publish any such theory.

Hi!
A random thought crossed my mind a week or so ago, and ignited the single most purposeful obsessive behavior in my entire life. I think I have a framework for a unifying theory of everything.
Before you scold me, trust me, I'm just as skeptical. I cannot comprehend the likelihood that random guy me comes up with that... I'm not a physicist, I'm not a mathematician.
But I do have that "See it work" gift. And for the first time, I can "see it work". And by it, I mean everything. Everything I have scoured over, every experimental result I've got my hands on, everything lines into place beautifully under the laws of this proposed unifier.
But, again, I'm not a physicist... so I need help translating the ideas into provable concepts. Equations, and such... you know? The stuff science is grounded in. I've done some of that already, and what I have done seems promising. It explains so much of the weird and unexplained phenomena. Gravity, light, black holes, mass, EM... well, everything. Want a model for calculating stuff irregardless of scale and frame of reference? It will do that too. But it certainly isn't finished. I've been wracking my brain on where to turn to with this idea, and it occurred to me that I'd like to collaborate with my fellows here at WP if any are willing. If, and that is a monstrously big "if"... but, if it is right... it could be a gift to the modern understanding of physics for all humankind, provided by your friendly Wrong Planet denizens.
I'm not ready to actually announce anything about it publicly, the nature of why/what/how on an open board like this, but I've got a number pages of notes in various degrees of polish. I want to finish the hard side of the theory, provable calculable stuff, first. So, if anyone has some math skills, some physics understanding, and maybe a little free time, please PM me. I'll go over the concepts, share what I've worked on thus far, and see what you think and if you could help (or at least help disprove!)
Doing it all on my own, is taking a lot of time, it is a huge undertaking. And I could really use a hand.
Thanks!

If you want your work to count, you must submit it first to a reputable journal to be vetted by professionals.
This forum is not the place to bring it up.
