jimservo, sometimes the software can be a problem, its security suite is acutally software from MCAFEE (shivers) lets just say 2 pc's are dead because of mcaffee software, i learned my lesson with activex file scanners, they dont catch ANYTHING.

about the browser, i am typing to you using aol explorer(not openride) i like it because i can just click a sidebar and get my email and favorites openride does look convincing but i would like to talk to other people who have it in their systems before i go for it. when i had aol, the last year and a half was actually me helping the techs!!

yes you read right jimservo, i kinda outsmarted them, find glitches, fix the problem, do research, douplicate the problem, then send screenshots to a couple of techs that i have communicated with, then discribe what to do, then tehy added it to the troubleshooting program at next meeting they had weekly at the call centers

i now use verizon fios and i one day found myself telling my dad that its odd that i find myself doing the same thing i was doing on aol but about many times faster, only thing i cannot do now is join them aol memeber or aol program chats (hehehe i do have irc though!! !)

jim, i see your in philly area, hows the rain??

doordoctor, you may be right about AOL. :? I'm not too much of an expert in those areas.

The rains is not too heavy where I am. I usually get a headache when it rains, but I haven't noticed much of anything tonight. I prefer rain to snow.

Featuring Jack Bauer. Doesn't he just look like someone you want to avoid, especially if you're a terrorist?

Nice to see a Mac user's desktop!! !

yea, sometimes the properties of having as come in very handy when dealing with tech support,

my present isp is verizon and about a month after i had it, lol i mastered it and the modem settings! i didnt bother to call for help accept only in the case to ask if the dsl lines were being worked on in my area (if internet was super super slow) when i woudl fix it, (connection) it got to point were i almost put the modem's ip address as a favorite place!!(i was on it sooo much fixing problems) turned out the problem was the hardware lines between me and verizon switching station.

now i have fios (fibor optics) (same isp) i mastered that one too within a month!! lol no need to call!! ! the ip address for modem is same despite the modem is actiontec, i love that thing!! more graphical interface (i guess verizon or actiontec is made for dyslexic computer users)

so far since octobor, i been speeding along light wires
(speedy gonzalas moment)

It isn't Vista. He's using WiMP10, and the icons are XP.

Nope. It's Windows XP using "WindowBlinds" to mimic Vista. :D

(I have no idea what WiMP 10 is...)

I don't know how to upload to this site (Wrong Planet), so I posted my screenshot on my own webspace:

www.mindfuldragon.com/images/desktop_screenshot.jpg

I've used Linux exclusively since January 2003 and have a love-hate relationship with it, verging
more towards hate lately.

But I won't go into all that.

The taskbar is normally hidden. The window manager is usually IceWM, as here.

I keep coming back to it because it's the only one that lets me tile windows easily and navigate
without much thought. I have enough on my mind already.

Oh, yeah...the background image is a purposely blurred photo I took. I have several such.

And I often impose my own colors on websites because the white strains my eyes; I use a gray background wherever I can.
