A little tidbit of scientific discovery was going to destroy Creationists ???

You are correct. Reality is not going to drag them from their world of delusion. They have excuses for everything. Never proof, only excuses and explanations, which is acceptable if not for the fact they try to force the unprovable onto society as fact.

They live with a brutal pathology, Delusional Disorder.

Pity them.

It can even affect those with IQ's higher than 85.

Tallyman is right. You might be surprised to learn that Georges Lemaître, the first person to propose the theory of the expansion of the universe (before Hubble) as well as what later became known as the Big Bang theory, was a Roman Catholic priest.

I've always found it interesting that many people think things like the big bang have anything to do with the possible existence of a god. I personally think a more important question, which will likely not be answered in our lifetime, is what lies beyond the universe? If the universe can expand, it's not farfetched to assume there might be something outside of it. Otherwise we have a situation where existence itself is spreading, which would cause all sorts of scientific quandaries.

There are plenty of "believers" who have no qualm with evolution or the age of the earth.

We need more moderates in this world. Even in myself, I recognize a tendency to be extreme in my views at times. But I freely admit my failings.

True but Georges Lemaître was not a creationist. In addition to being a priest, he was actually also a competent scientist and he wouldn't of considered evolution, or any scientific evidence that had implications for the age of universe, to be in conflict with his beliefs. In fact, he actually believed in Darwin's theory of evolution.

I can't help but think that the context of "BAZINGA" means it's a joke...not the winning of a debate.

No, it's pretty much a genuine discovery, not a joke.

Apparently you haven't read all that much literature written by apologists.

Creationists and Young Earth Creationists are two distinct types of thinkers. Creationists believe in creation ex nihilo. YEC's believe in a 6,000 year old universe. Pretty starkly different.
