Media Manager typically means a piece of software that manages media files, like iTunes, WinAmp, Amarok, Banshee, etc. I have to say I don't recall ever seeing the word "manager" refer to a piece of hardware, and I've been using computers for 21 years.

If you meant memory card reader, why didn't you say that?

Media Reader is a common term for a media card reader. Media Manager is not. A media card reader does not do anything to manage or sort your media.

Logic:
I saw manager and thought it meant software
I saw that it was a software spec listed among hardware specs so I put a question mark next to it

I don't use those since USB drives were slightly cheaper when I bought mine and more compatible than memory cards. My Linux OS wasn't wasn't compatible with card readers so I avoided card readers and never learned much about them.

I'll add some more confusion by saying that I've heard Jumpdrive, USB drive, flash drive, pen drive, and portable storage drive all refer to the same thing.

Very true, Jameson. I think the problem lies with emachines. I don't think they know much about computers. Last year, when I was working in the shop, a large proportion of machines that came in for resuscitation were emachine's.
Even sillier, on the eMachine site, the details for T5226 suddenly seem to lose all trace of the media card reader. It also has a puny 1G RAM - with Vista? I suppose it's cheap? (and nasty?)

Yeah, eMachines are shite...

What makes you think you need more RAM, MindOfOrderedChaos?
I get by with 512MiB, with the rest of my main m/c spec as yours, except for my puny GeForce2 MX/MX 400.

I run virtual Machines on my computer. Thats why.

Your main specs like mine? PCI Geforce2?? Because I don't think a PCIe Geforce2 ever came out.

GeForce didn't do PCI express until the 6 series.

I might have to pick your brains on that, MindOfOrderedChaos. I saw your desktop on the other thread, and it made me do a nice double take. Yes, you almost had me fooled into thinking that MS have made Vista do something interesting (how deluded can I get?).

I guess you're using Xen. I keep meaning to play with it. Is it really going to make me get more RAM? If so, I'm not even sure what I can stuff in this machine. It might already be at its max.

PS. My Nvidia is AGP.
