Has anybody seen news-stories (PBS broadcasts are very good) on how coding instruction can be one of many things to help disadvantaged communities? Such stories might help "break the ice" in our own struggles to learn and apply coding.
It can be uplifting to see people (who have difficulties in grasping TECH. related skills) struggle, and eventually have opportunities to finally shed that awful stigma of being disadvantaged!
There'e been excellent news-stories how TECH. skills have helped; both here in the states, and in developing countries. Personally, I'm drawn to examples of TECH. in developing countries; as age-old resourcefulness of people in developing parts of the world offers experiences important to the twenty-first century!
