What about the places where it might border on other spatial domains? Like a honeycomb, would you say, or more like a series of Venn Diagrams? I rather like the notion of worlds interlapping, universes meshing.

All the stuff I'm reading right now indicates that we really don't know, but infinite still appears to be on the table as far as I can tell.

Of course we don't know. Our ignorance is the jumping-off place. Our ignorance is why science exists in the first place.

Well, stupidity is infinite, and its contained by the universe, therefore the universe must be infinite as well!

In actuality I vote for finite but boundless.

Finite but unbounded I think is correct, but it doesn't leave out the possibility that there are other universes out side our own. it's my belief that outside our universe there are others strewn out to infinity, kinda like galaxies strewn out across our finite intergalactic space.

I suppose that in that case, we will someday detect radiation from those Universes? You are suggesting no barrier?

First ask your self, what is infinity.

for all things to be possible that are possible in our universe there would
have to have some infinite values to contain and become boundary's for the finite.
if you can only imagine a bounded universe then there would have to be a beyond,
and what name would we give that? a void? what is space but a void?

I think the "space" the universe is made of is infinite,
and so is the matter contained in it as well as being all the "elements",
but the finite mater has its own boundary's even though they may be infinite in value them selves.
its like there is more space as an infinite value then there is matter but in the whole its beyond our
comprehension in values of number, its like one of the quality's of space it that of being able to contain matter,
mater needs space, but space does not need mater. just like all the elements space is its own element with its own
definitions that makes it different like that of oxygen next to iron.whats rare here someplace in another universe may
not be so rare. and even though there may seem to be more of one thing then another, and this may be so,
but the total value in its number may as well be infinite since the space that contains it is infinite as well.
everything has its balance.

Our big bang I do believe is just one bubble in a bathtub full of them.
just like each element has its own atomic deference and quality so does many of each of the universes,
yes there are so many I am sure there are such an infinite number of our kind of universes thats out
there that somewhere there is a good chance that one universe is almost echoing ours (or visa versa)
about like a dual dimension would..

I don't think it's possible for electromagnetic radiation to ever leave our universe. In a finite universe there is no "barrier" space time is just arranged to where if you go one direction long enough you return to your starting point. Think of being here on Earth you can circumnavigate the globe, our universe or universes throughout may be arranged in the same way. simply theres no escape, in every sense our universe and any others are essentially a black hole.

Look at it this way: if the Universe is still expanding, then, by definition, it can't be infinite in size, can it?

Space, even if something is preoccupying it, is still space.

It is in fact expanding at an accelerated rate! I have my own theory on this but basically I think you're right. the expansion is a proof of not only the big bang but the universes finite size.

If memory serves, the way it works is simply that if we choose two points in space, then as the universe expands they will become farther apart. Space is expanding without necessarily implying anything about its total volume.

That has nothing to do with my question

If this is ambiguous, I am trying to say the universe can in fact be both infinite and expanding.

Space can easily expand within a finite universe in the same sense that you can keep inflating a balloon or a car tire. basically you're just increasing the size of a finite space and or volume.

This makes no sense
