Yeah, to clarify I multiboot. I'm running Mint 12 KDE alongside my Windows 7 and XP Pro partitions atm, I've used Gnome based distros previously but always preferred KDE - I love the look of that taskbar though.

Well, I have always loved Gnome. Open box is cool too! I installed the Cairo-dock as well. Check it out on the bottom side and top. You should look into installing it on your mint desktop!! Its awesome!!

BTW, if you have been using Linux for awhile, and are comfortable with the command line and your system; Then Give Arch a try!! !

I might do - I tried before but the installer hung due to some issues with my old graphics card. I did like the sound of it :)

I had the same issue. And a bunch of others!! there are work arounds for all of them. Thats what makes building Arch so awesome; You build it yourself unlike the automatic installation of an OS such as Ubuntu, etc. Thats why it feels so good after wards! Was the error, host bridge collision between the video adapter and the memory?

To be honest I can't remember, it was a couple of years ago. It was a Radeon X300 card I had at the time. I distrust automatic installations to some extent - that way you often get to the end to find its messed up but don't know where. :? The one I had most fun with was an installation from scratch of FreeBSD 5 - the end result was far from user-friendly so I did sack it for something I could actually use, but I learnt a lot about *nix in the process. :)

You've inspired me to give it another go though, I'll have a crack at that next week :thumleft:

Yeah I have a Radeon card as well. FreeBSD is a lot harder to install than Arch lol <Tips hat to you> Yeah, it will teach you a whole lot about your system!!

Go for it though! I hope you finish the install this time though lol

He's right, you know...
The site code makes a pig's ear of resizing anything larger than 800x600 and although I can manually tweak posts to correct that, I'd rather not - plus inevitably there's some I miss and that's always disappointing.

So... please resize any images to 800x600 or smaller before posting, otherwise they will get mangled.
This applies to any other areas on WP too.

As opposed to you simply resizing the image to 800x600 before linking to it as I requested earlier, or reworking the image you already linked? Or indeed just leaving it as a thumbnail linking to a full-sized version...
Oh sure, I have nothing better to do than do that for you, and then again to the quoted copy of it.

Sorry sorry sooooo sorry :( I didn't catch the 800x600 thing... I'm really not trying to be a pain... Now I know it's 800x600 I can resize accordingly. Again, many apologies dear great and wise Moderator. :P
