Main PC
OS: Windows XP Home SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
RAM: Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 SDRAM @ 1066Mhz
Hard Drive: 2x Western Digital Caviar 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
Graphics: Gigabyte 8800GT w/ 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E 2.0
Monitor: Viewsonic 19" LCD widescreen 1400x900

Built it myself, won't be upgrading this thing for a while methinks.

My laptop, which I use for most basic computing tasks now is an EEE PC 1000H. It's absolutely perfect for what I need it for, I've been very happy with it thus far. With one minor exception, being that I had to mess around with the BIOS before I could get it to reliably boot up.

Thought Of Upgrading the memory. On MemoryX.com you can get 3 128MB PC100 Memory modules for $40-$60. You can also chuck out that old hard drive and add like a 20-40GB Hard Drive by buying on eBay, Yard Sale, and just hacking away parts from broken computers. That's how i build mine in most cases.

Windows 95 is also severely outdated even for Word Processing and Web Surfing. I would suggest you get something like Windows 2000 Professional on the machine after you upgrade the memory and hard drive of course. Also most Antivirus Programs won't even run on Win95. Making it extremely vulnerable to viruses and trojans.

If you can contact me I`ll gladly give you some memory and a hard drive free of charge along with a copy of Win2000 and all the software you need.

Nice rig. :) Bet it run's like a mouse on fire. :P

I built it two months ago, and I almost need a seatbelt. lol

It replaced a P4 3.0 on a Intel D875PBZ mobo that I made last 7 years. I try and build with room to grow. :)

I forgot to mention it's all housed in a Lian Li case :)

Also forgot to mention the Corsair 700W Power supply :)

I bet it hauls ass at gaming and encoding video and stuff. I've got a stock E6400 and it's pretty damn fast, so that thing would haul. :P

One quick question, Why does everyone overclock there computers. It just makes their cpu's miscalculate and overheat just for a quick performence boost from 3.4Ghz to 3.6Ghz.

I don't OC, people do it so they can spend less on hardware and get more out of it. I don't have the cooling right now to do it. I also prefer a stable system, and I like to get time out of my stuff...overclocking can reduce the lifespan, and I just can't afford the risk right now. But, having the oppotunity is pretty nice, once I am willing to take the risk :)

Can't wait to see what it will do with a quad core and another 2 GB of memory :) Gaming is awesome on it :) Now to be able to afford some really great games! lol It's so quiet too, you can't even hear that it's turned on, and the case keeps it very nice and cool :)

True and by the way, You know how a Computer being used for a long time might have a problem with the CPU Speed being cut in half. [2.2 Ghz Athlon XP 2700 detected as 1.1Ghz Athlon Classic.] Well OverClockers so it more frequently and earlier than people who don;t.

I've enever been an AMD person, I prefer Intel. And it seems recent AMD cpus run hotter than Intel, so that's something to take into consideration as well. Heat issues can shorten the life of a computer pretty quickly.

Its easier for a Pentium 4 to overheat than an Athlon XP/64. As a computer repair person i seen more Pentium 4 computers die and not POST again the any other machine. Its pretty sad seeing a 400Mhz PII outlive a 3.2Ghz P4. Intel is getting better with the Dual-Cores but they have a long way to go.

Do you build Intel Computers or market off AMD's like the clowns at a computer shop cashing off Blue-Collar Workers.[ No offense but a lot of shops i know pray off stupidity to make a sale.]
