What was your original hypothesis? It sounds fascinating. I am age 22 now by the way, if that helps.

Hi

I promised to contribute where I can - Thanks Lord for the invitation.

Although awfully tired (it is 1 am here - I'm not used to these late nights), I've had a go at the test.

I'm 48

sorry team - I didn't read the question carefully enough - a minor emendation to my reply is required - I was diagnosed AS last September when I was 47.

I really don't think that test's very good! I mean the average IQ is supposed to be 100, but the average for WP seems to be about 140! I'm not saying we're not an intelligent bunch of people, but... well, I've taken online IQ tests before, and my score for that test is about 20 points higher than the mean of the other tests I've done. Apparently normal IQ tests are a poor measure of high IQs anyway. Here's a link to a test specifically for people with high IQs. It's way harder though! Expect to drop 40 points! lol (I took it ages ago, ad got 118! Wasn't too happy, but it was about 4am when I took it...)

There does indeed seem to be one slight weakness in this set-up. It's not that that test is bad, but that those who don't score really well on it may be less inclined to post their results here, particularly after seeing other people's posts and possibly thinking that we're all supposed to be geniuses.

1) At what Age were you officially Diagnosed? (if you havent yet then just say N/A)NA

I'm 40 - if that's important. I see some just put their age in.

2) are you Male or Female?MALE

3) What is your IQ?146 today. 138 last time I took this test.

This is the test that gives random, and moderately high
scores. It's been noted as pretty poor on another site.
I've gotten wide variances from it.

ok, ok so the IQ test isnt the most accurate, but i needed a universal IQ test that i could use for this, and it was the first reasonable sounding one that i came across...

1) N/A (self-diagnosis - 9.)

2) Female.

3) 138. However, if it's true that it's a timed IQ test and you lose one point per minute, my score may be due to the fact that I was writing an essay whilst doing it...

That's true, and also many people may not want to take the test at all. There's also the fact that WP probably provides a rather biased cross-section of the Aspergian population. That IQ test has very few questions too, which probably increases the number of people who are prepared to take it, but decreases its accuracy... But AFTL should probably be the one doing the critical analysis! lol (Too tempting for me, though, as this covers several of my interests: AS, psychology, and criticising stuff!)
