I enjoy watching them, of course I really enjoy any wildlife but birds can be pretty cool.

My favorite kinds are corvids like ravens, crows, magpies and Jays, I like the carnivorous birds, like eagles, hawks, falcons and owls as well as vultures. The more sort of song birds can be kind of entertaining, but I find the others more interesting.

I also like some flightless birds like the cassowary, that thing is basically just a dinosaur, and penguins are cool but birds like that don't live around here so I only get to see them on documentaries, or at zoos.

I've always loved birds!

I like looking at them in the wild and watching their behaviours and hearing their various calls.

Around here we have a lot Magpies, Kookaburras, Currawongs, Wattlebirds and Noisy Miners. Each variety has it's own behaviours. I've watched Kookaburras being majorly harassed by Noisy Miners even though they're much smaller. The similar looking Magpies and Currawongs are usually found in different places. Magpies spend most of their time strutting around on the ground, Currawongs prefer to remain in high places like trees and power lines. In my new house the first birds I hear every morning are Kookaburras, I absolutely love hearing them as I rouse from a slumber.

In Melbourne there is a site on a tall building in the CBD where Peregrine Falcons nest every year. Late winter they switch on a webcam which watches them 24/7, laying eggs and you can watch hatchlings being fed and grow in size by the day before fledging.

Crows are afraid of me.

At first I thought they did not understand my Russell Crowe jokes and thought I wanted to fight.

But then I realized it may not be about me,

a lot of people dont get crows, and are probably rude and hostile to them,

But I love them

In the same zoo where is saw the kookaburra, i met quite a few parrots.
I find it more pleasant to talk with/to animals than with/to people, btw, humans are also animals, but humans are very complicated for me.

Is that a Ringneck parrot on your shoulder at the start?

I don't know what kind of parrot it is. Originally this zoo started as a shelter for sick parrots, also a shelter when people wanted to get rid of their bird. Besides parrot-like, there are also raptors in this zoo. These raptors were not allowed to fly around freely, and could not sit on my shoulders, otherwise I might have gotten the same ear as Vincent van Gogh at the time. :)

I like parrots a lot! They're so bright and colourful...

Today I was riding my bike, and stopped at a bench to tweak the angle of my seat.

There were geese close to where I stopped, so I said "mep mep mep"

Guy nearby said he has pics and vids of a goose family- eggs, babies, and even footage of papa goose mounting him.

I said "you should put that on youtube"

he said he paid a guy to, but he didnt do it. I said ill do it for free.

So now he wants me to make a story out of these pics and vids, [havent seen them yet, and put them on youtube.

Guy with a goose mounting him says be a creative as you want, I think he and means it. :jester:

I've seen a flock of feral parrots while visiting London- they lived in the tall trees near a friend's house. Small, green ones- probably ringneck parakeets or monk parakeets. I also once helped reunite an escaped African grey with his owner. It was a cold, foggy November day so I doubt he'd have survived long outside.

I get that people dont get them,

they are supposed to be so smart and great mimics,

yet all they do is squawk at 90 decibels.

but I figured it out.

they are not saying "caw caw caw"

if you look at it another way, they are saying cawc!, cawc! cawc!.

they are all sex addicts.

The duck is a playground equipment for a playground, it is quite possible that someone once ride on this duck. In the summer, the water is used by homeless people to wash themselves.

Nils Holgersson once did a ride on a bird, not on a duck but on a goose. In my fantasy i sometimes make a flight on the wings of eagle. And in a dream i use my arms as wings :)
