i dont think we ca permanently destroy it, but we can bring it just so much out of balance that the biosphere would start suffering,
if the salinity and temperature of the seas change too much too fast, it could disrupt the large ocean currents, eventually leading to some very vold and very hot places.

Well the atmosphere is acid and they once send down a drone but it began to desintigrate after an hour if i recall.
so a person... don't think so 
i wouldn't want to.
