dont worry, i will be writing up about the efficiency of the test used... remember no statistical project is ever a failure, they just end up different to how you expected them to be :P

i will be analysing both how it went and the mistakes i have made during the process, such as selecting this perticular IQ test, and exploring the validity of IQ tests in general, and how biased using WP as a volunteer base may be....

:P

Okay. Something else I think would be good to cover (you haven't mentioned it, although I know you may still have considered it) is that for people with AS taking an IQ test we may use abilities other than the ones the questions are designed to test for. We have different abilities than NTs, generally speaking, so may approach the task of solving the problems (the questions) differently.

Diagnosis Probably around age of 10 (I was sent to a special school and logic dictates a diagnoses of some sort was made then I suspect I was never told what it was or meant).
Age 50
Gender Female (trangenderd M to F)
IQ 133

RESULTS:
Your IQ score is 133. A person whose IQ score falls in the range of 129-143 is considered to be "highly intelligent".

Your IQ score is based on your scores across 12 distinct aspects of intelligence. Like everyone, you have a unique intellectual makeup, with strengths and weaknesses that affect your methods of understanding, communication and relating to others. According to your results, your greatest intellectual strength is Computation.

Yeah, I was thinking about the whole
self-reporting issue. I was embarrassed
enough of mine to consider not posting
it. Obviously, someone who gets on the
low end is likely to be REALLY uncomfortable.

That's why there are guidelines on how these
sorts of tests are to be conducted.

Yeah and since hes not using a random sample this it utterly useless data combined with
the penis size...ah I mean IQ question which is bound to be getting lots of "honest"
answers.

He should have picked a town with a million house holds. Randomly picked out 10000.
Mailed a questionnaire to them to see if any had kids or adults known or likely on the spectrum. Get them to come to his school. Then tested the 100-500 that would have showed up. Not enough money/ time for that? Fine but thats what it takes to get good data. If I was going to settle for bad data I would fake it all from the get go.

(1) At what Age were you officially Diagnosed? (if you havent yet then just say N/A) - N/A - age 47

2) are you Male

3) thinking about what TM1 and Callandale said, the data would be very skewed.

WP members have computers and internet access and time on their hands. Likely to be non-typical of most aspies, let alone general population.

You may as well put all your data in an excel spreadsheet and click and drag to have it auto fill more data for you and use that to save time.

Well, it's still best to have everyone take the same test - even if it isn't the most accurate test. The data will be better if everyone uses the same measure.
