Which computer operating system is best for Aspies

Those nLight programs also take functionality away from Windows by destroying valuable OS files. I couldn't run certain programs after using it due to all the OS files missing.

Hell believe it are not using nLight or not there is not a significant performance difference. It just takes away functionality to average person needs when using a computer.

By far I would go with Windows 2000 Professional. As efficient as XP but w/o all the gloss. Is not a memory hog but is far more stable than inferior OSe's like Windows 95.

While its incomplete and therefore I cant recommend it to anybody, I'm keeping an eye on React OS. Its an open source, binary compatable version of Windows. Already it works fine, although its hardware support is quite poor, it runs alot of Windows software.

Its also not a resource hog - at the moment, its usable in only 32mb of ram.

Ever since I got my Mac Mini two years ago, I would never go back to Windows.

Since I have an XBOX 360 Elite for all my gaming needs, I use only use Ubuntu on my computer for the non-gaming stuff. Vista is still on there if I need it, but I rarely use it. Yes, I still have games on it in case my annoying sister hogs the idiot box all day.

I don't think it has anything to do with the diagnosis, more of taste and choice. GNU/Linux is a very attractive choice, though.

I dont know. We Linux users figure very prominently as a slice of the aspie population. Far greater than the linux users represent in the general population.

I'll call a trick question, It really depends on the capabilities of your computer and your liking. I would love to drop windows(As a main) at the drop of a hat, but my machine is too old for Ubuntu. That were alternative solution comes in, Xubuntu. The smaller and more compact version. Since cost is nicely smashed out of the way for operating systems due to the greatness of alternative systems, there are many choices. (I might check up on React OS, see how that project is coming along.)

reactOS emulates windows 2003/XP. if you can run windows XP, you can run Ubuntu.

animeboy, that is a tough choice for all Autistic people tend to be good with various scenarios, in that some people might find Windows more useful whereas, others might prefer Linux but, for the most part it's a matter of personal preference to an OS that halps him/her to best carry out all computer-related tasks with little or no trouble overall..
Currently, I'm using Windows XP Pro but, realise I'll have to move up to Vista eventually as well Windows 7 once it has been thoroughly worked through and all..

There is no such thing as a "best" for anyone or anything. It strictly depends on how you use computers.
