Gave up on it offline. And then I even went to the internet.

Believe it or not there is a whole Wiki type article on the net about the number 5618. Lists every characteristic about it. Its not a perfect number, its not a prime, its square root is nothing special. Nothin' special about it all.

I give up.

@NP
I will explain soon, but I'll give another 24 hrs so other users have a chance to give the answer.

Are you saying that this set has an actual order, and that "we" are the 5618th thing in this order?

Or are you saying that "we" are simply a member of a set that has 5618 members?

We are the 5618th thing in the set.
The set exceeds 5618.
The order of the set is (1, 2, 3, 4, ....,5618,.....)
The set is finite.

Let me know if you are tired of this, I don't want to piss anyone off. Some people love this kinda thing while others get PO'd.
Sincerely,
slave

I will simply give the answer, if requested.

Oh and I should clarify for others, the Borg labeled species in the order in which they encountered them and we were the 5618th species they encountered.
In many cases it is the order in which the species were assimilated, but not always, like Species 8472 which was NOT assimilated but was still labeled 8472.

:D

1 is also cool because if x=1 and y=1,

(x+y)^n=x^n+y^n

Also nice that it works so that

n^(n-1)=n
