What kind of bird, has a long tail of feathers, is all black, and has a sweet static song?

Slightly smaller than a raven.

We had a bunch where we used to live, they'd fly by the canal.

One time I through a whole bag of seed on the neighbors roof from our apartment..

The next day, they were ALL perched there. Such a Holy sight to behold.

If you could hear these birds sing, you'd die. They're so..

Amazing.

A whole roof of great tailed grackles.

There was at least a hundred or half of.

Here in DC there are short tailed black birds called starlings, and longtailed black birds about the same size called "grackles". They both can be seen swarming in the sky with crows which are bigger than both.

At a resort in Jamaica we would see long tailed black birds (bigger than grackles but smaller than crows)...sometimes they would land our outdoor breakfast tables and finish off our pancakes when the humans left the table. The locals called them simply "black birds".

I've always loved birds, especially pigeons. They're adorable, smart, misunderstood, and the oldest domesticated bird. I want to keep some as pets someday.

First off, I avoid flamingos, they bite. Definitely don't recommend engaging with birds in that fashion 0 stars.

If you're interested in learning about birds, I'd recommend the Merlin app. It's from Cornell and it can identify birds from pictures, by recording and description. They use it in part to help track migration patterns, but they can also help identify birds that you don't yet know.

I personally, use about 400mm worth of lens when I'm taking shots of them.

Yeah, the Merlin app rules. Love me some birbs, so I make active use of it.

I love birds, especially birds of prey. I already plan to make birdwatching my main pastime when I retire in 30 years time.

Love Corvids and owls. Startled a Peregrine Falcon on a city street last week, absolutely beautiful.

I love ducks. I can’t even choose a favorite specie.
I want to do birdwatching but it’s far away from my home.
I watch, I catalogue, memorize, read research and sometimes imitate (but not seriously, just helping me).
