I cant install anything to my U3 smart drive! Help

I am trying to install programs to my U3 smart drive and every time I try I get a message saying it is corrupt what should I do?

The filesystem may be corrupt, what programs are you trying to install? And what OS are you using?

I am using Vista and trying to install Pidgin, and openoffice.org. My jumpdrive got erased when I pliged it in to my older sister's laptop.
