Its not often it happens to me and when it do it use to be my mums or dads computer
I installed a new internet browser on my mums computer last time I used it because YouTube complained hers was too old
But I erased it when leaving the computer

I would never enter private files and documents but I cant hesitate to check the history of what internet pages the owner of the computer have visited...
And I dont like to leave traces of myself. Even if I just have seen some innocent funny videos on YouTube I erase all of it out of pure habit..

But mostly it annoys me alot to use someone elses computer because Im so accurate to have things in the exact way I want it
Im not either able to do anything of my own work on other comps as they dont have the facilities and programs required
I really concider to get myself a laptop because of that...

Same here. I compulsively delete browser history, cookies, etc. Heck, I even clear out the history on my graphing calculator. And I'm also really picky about my computer settings, so using someone else's machine is usually unpleasant.

Laptop is the easiest way around it. My school's computers are all on XP (I'm on ubuntu), and the other computers in my house are horribly slow.

I picked mine up for about 900 from a local retail store. Laybuy for a few months and now I have a computer that works how I want it to (that is, after I wiped vista etc off of the laptop).

I agree. I have my machines (one desktop, one laptop) customized in a variety of ways, and would rather use them than other systems. When I do use someone else's system, I erase all history of my activity.

I never use someone else's computer because they don't have my screen reader on it. However, when I still lived at home, we had a home network and I used to read my father's shared files. Only the ones that were about me though, and he didn't mind.

When I leave my compute runattended, I don't erase my history, but I used to when I still lived with my parents.

I used to fix peoples reported problems if they weren't around, limited to only their intervention needs (i.e, no reboots). I actually sort of skimped on customizing the XP machine, but I've been refreshing on support for it, so I've activated things like Console, etc.

I usually just wait for the other person to be around, and suggest something that 'works better'. If they don't like it, it's their machine. If I had a nickel for every Yahoo toolbar I've deleted....;)
