Be more specific on what you mean by games. I just recently built this computer for the purpose of extreme 3D gaming.

my specs are:

3 GB DDR dual channel RAM

Soundblaster X-FI audio card

2 x Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX graphics cards

AMD athlon 64 X2 4800 Dual Core processor

Go with an Athlon 64 dual core CPU and about at leats 1 GB RAM, the faster the RAM the better, if you're playing games. Also, since you're playing games get a really fast Graphics card. --If you're downloading music, I would suggest that you get an external hard Drive as well. Firewire or USB 2.0 should be good for this.
