Tomorrow, on the 27th on January 2010, something amazing will happen. Steve Jobs will come on the stage and show us something he says is "the most important thing" he's made.

I am talking, of course, about the Apple tablet(s), iPad, iSlate, or whatever it'll be called.

I for one have my wallet out right now! How's about you? :D

I have a couple tablets. One for XP and another for iMac. Do those have different features from the Wacom tablets?

You're thinking of graphics tablets. This is not the same. It doesn't plug into a computer, it's basically a computer with a touch screen.

Okay, so it has nothing to do with graphics. Sounds really cool, though. I'll have to look into it for school too, being it's small and more portable. Thanks! :)

Apple has made Newton tablets (prototypes) over 15 years ago, so this has been a long-time-coming.

Has it actually been about that long ago since they thought about the design and everything for a apple tablet?

When it comes to technology we have the "Haves" and the "Haves Later". The haves later
usually have it better and at lower cost......I think I'll wait a while like I did when I got my iPhone.

Looks cool, but I'd rather buy a tablet with Ubuntu or Windows 7. I'm not an Apple person and never will be one.

i really like PCs; i like building them, i like hardware and software tweaking, and i like gaming.... but there is something to be said for the beautiful interface and aesthetics of the iPhone and of Apple products in general. i am not saying that they are perfect (nothing is), they just work very well and have visual appeal.

It looks like a large iPod Touch/iPhone with a different background. I wonder when they will come out it a tablet that runs the OSX that the desktops and laptops use.

It is a netbook. And at 500 not as expensive as apple stuff tends to be in comparison to alternatives, in fact, there are hp crappo netbooks that are as expensive as that and are not as cool. My crappy Acer netbook costed barely 125 USD less than that and it didn't last for 10 hours.

If unlike i-phones I can actually install another OS on them this thing will have my blessing. Neverthless, I predict it to sodomize the netbook market as most consumers won't mind and they always follow apple stuff as if they were lemmings. I do not fell sorry for the netbook makers. They allowed MS to lead them into the non-innovative, safe valley in order to run windows so they may as well go to heck now. The ipad is seriously going to kill them. Not missing ASUS either, they were cool in 2007 but they ruined everything up and I am glad they are not surviving this.

I am an apple hater and even I am excited. This thing is going to destroy everyone on the market.
