Mac seems to have gotten brain damage.

It's all functional and well, but it highlights things when i dont want it to, or drags stuff without me clicking. like i will move over something with the cursor and it highlights or drags it. It doesn't have any trojans or anything. What do you think is wrong with it?

I'm not entirely sure exactly what behaviors you're describing, but you can always reset the relevant item (keyboard, mouse, etc.) in the System Preferences. Check your mouse and keyboard themselves too, to make sure there's no physical damage.

Without looking at the settings on my mac, it sounds like you have turned on something like a sticky key preference or something have a look at your preferences; everything Aoi says

Is this Mac a notebook computer or a desktop computer?

If it's a notebook computer if you go to Apple menu:System Preferences... is there something there named Trackpad? If so, if you go to it is there something that says Dragging and is it checked? If so, uncheck it.

If it's a desktop computer does the mouse have a ball or a laser on the bottom? How old is the mouse?

If you go to the apple menu and choose About this Mac what does it say in the window that comes up?

Does it have an annoying BLACK square in your windows?

if yes:
Apple > System Preferences > Universal access

check if Voiceover is on, check it off.
check maybe if Mouse keys(under mouse menu), and Slow keys(under keyboard menu) are checked On, check them off.

(mine is in spanish, hope it's similar to your menu)

Sounds like a mouse button is failing or the capacitance sensor in a trackpad.

well i unchecked the "dragging" option, ill see if that helps.
