I keep typing in things in google search and when I click on a link in results...it keeps redirecting me to a random but generic looking search site. I think it's doing this on Yahoo search too though not all links in the results page are doing this. Some are now doing several redirectings before sending me back to the results page and claiming that I visited the page. The time stamp is also an hour ahead of what it is now for me.

This sounds like you have some malware / virus on your computer. I've heard of some malware redirecting search results to other sites or generally messing with your browser. I suggest you check your computer for nasties.

It is your computer not the search engines that are infected with malware.

Then I guess my next question is if anyone can link me up to an anti-malware thing that's free and compatible with Windows Vista?

I tried to download something earlier but it didnt work for me.

Malwarebytes is great. I use it, and also use spybot s&d now and then.
