These findings can lead to interesting applications:
New Scientist - Your keyboard knows that it's you and you're stressed

I'm amazed how people get paid to study things that are so darn obvious. 8O

Relations between variables that may seem obvious need to be studied to prove if they are true.
Because not all that seems obvious is true.

Just so long as it doesn't lead to applications that try to help soothe you! - Not unless they start making unbreakable and bullet proof computers.

Anyone remember Space Odyssey 2001 "You seem to be upset Dave. Why don't you take a stress pill and lay down and think about this..." or words to that effect, just after Hal had killed his companions.

This is another new scientist article that makes me think
"This is really interesting"
"1984 is now, all hope is gone"
Simultaneously.

True, but with all the important things that need to be solved in life, this is what gets funding?

Kind of how I fume over how I'll ever pay off my student loans on such low wages but we have BILLIONS (if not TRILLIONS) to spend on foreign aid, wars around the world, bank bail outs, Wall Street bail outs, etc.
