No 'big company' is ever 100% ethical, sadly thats business for you, if you don't like it, don't buy from them or work for them. Apple is no better, they've their fair share of stains to. I bet even Ubuntu do. The everyday items we buy, 90% of them are not produced under a standard of practice you would agree with. The clothes on your back were probably made in a factory in Thailand or India, with workers barely earning enough to feed themselves & their children, it's not just MS that need to clean up their act.

As for unfair competition, I see Apple doing VERY well off the back of MP3 players & mac, MS only sell Zune in the US & Canada, while Apple sell ipod/iphone worldwide.

Whenever you visit a website, it stores cookies & tracks your movement, most online advertising is based off simlar systems, if you don't like it, use adblock. If you want to remain unknown/unnoticed, don't connect to the net.

Like it or not MS are the king of computing & modern tech, without them things certainly wouldn't have advanced so fast. IBM kicked it all off, MS made it sellable & acceptable to EVERYONE, no matter their ability.

I must admit, after many years as a windows user, I feel like it's time for a change one day, I will always have a windows PC, because it's a fact, many things I do (art, gaming etc) are only really doable on a MS OS.

Every windows OS has been riddled with issues, due to rushing during BETA stages etc, but then again something as unpredictable as a computer system can never be relied upon 100%, no matter what software it's running on.

Sorry miserlovescompany. when Celtic_Frost agrees with you it means even if you have good points you still lose.

I quite like this point you have made, but you forgot to restrict the comment to closed source software.

There is nothing more predictable than a computer system running open source software - as you can just look at the code to see what it does.

Even better, thousands of enthusiastic contributors, around the world, will look at it for you, should the code do anything unhelpful.

Who do you complain to when your closed source, proprietary software refuses to work predictably?
