Here is my problem,
I've booted into the slackware Ver. 13 dvd-iso and I got into cfdisk. However it said: "Opened disk as read-only - you have no permission to write." Which is very unusual because I am logged in at a root user. I have a feeling it is trying to look at the cd and not the hard drive, so I typed

Quote:
cfdisk dev/hda

but it still won't detect my hard drive!
Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

For Slackware, you probably want to setup your partitions in advance with a Debian or Ubuntu cd. The Slackware partitioner does not appear to be very functional.
