I give this documentary 4 stars. I bet you guys are still feeling the Exxon disaster up there in Alaska.

The effects from the Exxon Valdez spill are far-reaching; Alaska has a unique pristine environment so the E.V. spill was a hard hit. I am so sorry for what has transpired off LA - how very unfortunate. I'd really hope BP can do better with prevention.

The vid is funny but with truth to it as well.

I saw that. Funny video but I have to say, a proper title would be BP executives hard at work.

Most corporate f ups are not the fault of it's engineers, but it's executives. The majority of bad corporate technical decisions were made by executives and administrators against the protests of those who knew better (the engineers).

The problem is, there is generally not much an engineer can do to prevent the company from moving forward with obviously ill fated plans. It is not illegal for a company to not listen to it's engineers and negligence cases can only be brought against a company after the fact. The best the engineer can do is to send out a memo stating why whatever should not be done, thus absolving themselves from any liability in the situation.

If engineers had their way, the world would be a much safer place.

Blame the idiots who go to business school (unless they also happen to have degrees in engineering).

Bingo. One of the biggest mistakes companies made during the recession was firing their senior engineers. Apparently the CEOs and HR folks thought they were the best choice, simply because the engineers that have been there for years made the most (aside from themselves). I've been hearing quite a lot from my friends out in industry about the ridiculous problems that companies are having that could have been solved by the experienced engineers they fired in less than an hour. One in particular (I can't name names) lost about $1 million a day for over a month because of something simple like this.

I thought that video was funny because it made fun of BP. Thanks for sharing LabPet.

It's a fantasmical video that i've shown multiple people in the past two weeks.

There's a joke BP twitter account for more satire on BP. http://twitter.com/BPGlobalPR

I do agree, and hate business administrators. I'm working towards going into education. They get into school administration on the basis of their 'magical' business credentials and they f**k stuff up, try to turn the public system into a private charter one via pointless and rigged standardized tests, increase segregation between white and black, affluent and non affluent one hundred fold, slash art (my field), music, and sometimes PE. f**k those greedy fools, they should shove those union-busting charter schools up their asses. Only educators should be allowed to be school administrators.
