I don't know that much about computers and I use a pretty basic phone, but I can get pretty excited about a good mp3 player  I've had a couple of Creative Labs players in the past and liked them a lot because they were so easy to use, didn't cost too much, and were really durable, but I just upgraded because I ran out of space on my last one (60 gigs). They are going to release player called the "Zii egg" but it is only expandable up to 64 gigs (if I understood correctly). It looks just like an iTouch. Since creative didn't have a large enough player, I bought an Archos 5 with android...mine has 160 gigs. I love it 8) It has all my music, movies, TV shows, pictures, apps, wifi, plus plenty of stuff I don't know how to use yet. It's just the coolest little thing I've ever had. I've taken it on a few trips and it's great entertainment. I wish I had some more games, but I really don't know anything about finding apps yet.

So, what do you all have? (Sorry if this thread exists already, I didn't see one when I searched).

I have a pretty generic 512 MB MP3 player. 512 MB is enough for all the music I want. I couldn't possibly fill up several gigabytes...There simply isn't enough proper music! I do have a portable 1000GB hard drive on which I store television series, video games, pictures, and a back-up of important documents.

I've resolved never to buy anything named in the format of "iWhatever".

Yes, when shopping for a new player everyone continued to say "why don't you just get an iPod?" I just can't bring myself to buy one. Too many people that have them don't even know how to use them. The iPod touches are kind of cool, but they weren't cool enough for me to pay that much, figure out the iTunes software, and handle a player that looks so fragile.

I have a 4GB Philips GoGear for listening in bed and travelling, a media server in the house to share the contents of a 600 GB disk, a Roberts internet radio / media player attached to the hifi, and a 1TB Iomega media / video player beside the TV.

I have a 32 gigabyte iTouch. It's pretty cool, but I would have been fine with an 8GB. I won't complain though, because it was a gift, and therefore free.

iPod Shuffle- 4th gen (4 GB). It looks like a pretty blue siick of gum. Yeah, a screen would be nice, but I know exactly what songs are in there in what order, sp it hardly is necessary! I could clip it to my hair if I wanted - this thing is so tiny. I have an older model shuffle that my mother accidentally washed and let go a couple rounds in the dryer, and do you know it still works?! I gave that one to my daughter because the only issue is that only one earphone will work now (it's not the earphone, it's the player). She isn't bothered by sound in only one ear, but that drives me crazy.

8GB Zune. Would've gone with a Zen, but no local dealers sold them.

I have a 16GB Zen and I love it more than any of my other gadgets (except, perhaps, my DS). Before my current mp3 player I used a 2GB Zen V Plus, which I gave to my mom because it still works fine, I just wanted more space because I use it mostly for audiobooks which can take up a lot of space when I want to put multiple whole books on there and still have room for my favourite music.

8GB iPod touch 1G and 16GB iPhone 3GS. The iPhone gets the use really, the iPod touch was my main one before I got an iPhone, but now I just mess around with it really.

I have an 8 gigabyte Cowon D2 with a 4 gig SD card for music. The internal space is mostly videos and they take up a lot of space. I also have Rockbox installed to the memory card, so I can save my settings, games, et cetera.

My Samsung cell had 4GB of MP3s on it.

I also have 2 512GB Sansa MP3 players that I got from Buy.Com for $5, a 4GB Emerson MP3 player, and a Coby MP3 player that expands to 4GB.

The cheap ones I use when I exercise or want to listen to music near the tub with portable speakers.

However, my favorite way to listen to music is via secondhand wireless Sennheiser headphones streaming music from my laptop ($8 from the thrift shop).
