Apple has pushed past arch-rival Microsoft to become the world's biggest technology company.

Changes in the share price values of the two in Wednesday's choppy trading left the total value of Apple at $222bn (£154bn).

Microsoft is now valued by investors at $219bn.

So, all the dreamers left high and dry by the GFC still think Steve Jobs can bring the fantasy back to life? Give me a break...

"Microsoft, whose operating system runs on more than 90% of the world's personal computers, has not been able to match growth rates from its heyday of the 1990s. "

That's the United States vs. Microsoft trial at work. If not for that, Apple, Oracle, IBM, and any other major company that produces software would be gone by now, destroyed by Micro$oft's constant genocide against competing products.

Not particularly surprising since M$'s main market is OS's and Office apps, IE, primarily a software company when you overlook their fairly limited hardware market, (XBox, Mice, Keyboards, and the Zune.)

Apple OTOH, is primarily a Hardware Vendor that charges about twice as much for their hardware that competitors charge for theirs.
