Hi. I'm using this mac, and I don't want people to see where I've gone. I went to HISTORY, and cleared the entire history, but it automatically recognizes me here whenever I come. Maybe I need to clear the cookies also.

I have another thing I need help with. There's this feature on the mac where you can look at the pages somebody looked at, and it looks like book pages are being turned in front of you. How do I access that? And how do I make sure the pages I've been aren't showing up? Please help! All help is appreciated! Thank you!

Not entirely sure what you're referring to in the second paragraph though if it's in Safari it should be cleared when you sort the first problem. On the 'Safari' menu and click 'Reset Safari...' check all the relevant tickboxes and hit the Reset button. If you don't want to have to keep doing it then before you visit this site or others then use the 'Private Browsing' button on the same menu and this will prevent anything being stored.

Websites don't look at your browsing history to see if you're logged in. In most cases, they don't have access to it, unless it's your immediate history (like what you've had up in that same window).

Maybe this will help:

Unless I'm missing something, your referring to your own browsing history. Nobody else can see that but you, unless you have a virus, or are using somebody else's computer.

If you are concerned about privacy, read the privacy policies of sites. Google knows what you search and keeps a record of it for 18 months. If you don't want sites to identify you, go to your web browser's options and disallow it from using cookies.

Oh my, you've bought a mac. OK just follow my instructions and you will be fine.

1. You need: 2 liters of holy water, a cross, a sledgehammer, a partner and a windows manual.

2. Have your friend recite the windows manual while holding the cross.

3. Pick up the sledgehammer and start bashing the mac.

4. Buy a computer with Windows.

You can reset safari which will take away everything.. or just clear your history and cookies..

If you are logged in to certain places they may keep track of things regardless of cookies or history, such as google/gmail.

If you want to view your history you can always go to History > Show all History , or option + command + 2

and *hiss*. Begone foul windows propaganda pusher! the power of unix compels you ;D

As people have said, reset Safari. In the future, you can turn on private browsing or use the guest account for the history not to be saved at all in the first place.

Resetting Safari is a bit extreme. You can go into "all history" and delete the sites that you visited while you were using it. You could also delete cookies, as mentioned. To keep WP from recognizing you, go to "preferences->privacy(I think)->autofill" and delete your password for this site. In the future, private browsing mode is a good option.saved passwords
