I have a question for anyone who uses an e-Reader such as the Amazon Kindle. I've been looking into either buying a Kindle or asking for one for my birthday, Christmas, etc. They've gone down in price a lot, and I think I can get a lot of use out of them for both academic and leisure reading, but they're still rather expensive.

Which leads me to my question. Can one purchase and/or read graphic novels i.e. comic books/manga on a Kindle or similar e-reader? This is going to be the deciding factor on whether I get one or not, since manga constitutes over 50% of my leisure reading. I'm assuming it can, but if it can't then I am probably going to ditch the idea.

Thanks!

~Roxas

Yes. When you go to the Kindle storefront (in the Kindle), you may look for books organized by categories, and among them, there are graphic novels, magazines, newspapers, scifi, fiction, non fiction, parenting, children's books, manuals, etc. It's something that I truly enjoy, specially since it's difficult for me to get books in English where I live, so I got it for Christmas, and it's really easy, specially since sometimes there are books below 2 dollars, and I can always search by categories. Besides, the number of books you can buy through Kindle is on the grow, on Christmas there were 325000, now there are around 445450, or 500000 books.

Awesome. This will probably be the major addition to the Christmas list. >:D

You can download the Kindle app for Mac or PC and basically have the same software running on your computer (that is, you don't need a kindle to do it). Then you can go through the kindle store and get samples of kindle books. I'm on the waiting list for one (I can't wait! !) and I just got a few samples today. It's super fast. Then you can see what's available and how it feels to look through it in a digital format. I think it might be a nice way to try it out.
