I just can't figure out how to keep Photoshop CS3 from realizing that key is already in use.

I feel completely justified using it for movies, too. If FOX wants to release the Alien series on bluray in one package and not break them up so you can buy them individually to save $80, I'll download it.

Very little. The vast majority of what I download, I would never have bought, even if downloading wasn't an option. It's saved me a bit in video rental fees, but that's about it.

None, because if I pirate something I never would buy it in the first place.

It's a trap, OP is FBI and logging IP's for everyone who answers.

None. I find freeware alternatives to software others would just pirate, I buy music and games.

I have never pirated any software either. I did once use some software licensed for me by a previous employer, in order to save the data in a non-proprietary format, and I felt really guilty that I hadn't erased the software the day the contract ended ...

Just getting your data out from their proprietary format, is, I think, fair game, even if you have to pirate something to do it. Luckily for me the only proprietary apps that I've put a lot of data in either have good reverse-engineered implementations (MS Office files) or a freeware reader (Wolfram Mathematica) which ease the move of my data to free alternatives.

Stealing ftw

It doesn't matter because people will always pirate. Every guy arrested for pirating increases the collective nerd rage - certainly a force to be reckoned with (just look at Operation Payback or the old Spore DRM controversy). ISPs certainly wouldn't want to penalize people for pirating because they'd lose money. Even if all torrent/rapidshare sites suddenly disappeared, more innovative solutions would arise (just look at bookchan or the hidden wiki).
