I have been playing Crysis and was on the last level, i have not had any trouble up until i got out onto the flight deck and all the colors reversed right after an explosion, which needles to say made it impossible to play, so i went into settings, and changed the game's video setting's (which until this point had been on the default (everything set to High)) to medium, and started playing again, and the game slowed to a crawl so i exited the game, closed a program (my pc had started a defragging itself), and started the game again and as soon as i fired a rocket my pc went to the dreaded blue screen. So what i am asking is, what happened and how can i fix it?

I've never seen the game, but I googled for Crysis and up came some patches, do you have them all?

The OP probably bought through steam (most games are bought there), so that would mean they have all the patches.

Have you tried just starting the game again and playing to see what happens? Also, how much RAM do you have, and how many hours had you been playing without exiting the game? It could have just been a memory error or something, or maybe your video card overheated.

after doing some googleing i found that it is a common error, and the way to fix it is to run the game in Directx 9 instead of Directx 10.
Now the problem is, i have no idea how to do that. The websites i looked at said to right click on the icon select properties and click on Directx 9, but when i go into properties Directx 9 anywhere, so how do i run it in Directx 9?

Edit: i am running Windows 7 64bit home premium

are you trying to say you can't find the setting? right click > properties. there should be a text field called target put -dx9 at the end but inside the quotes.(at least I think it goes inside the quotes can't quite remember.)

It worked! ty, also Crysis has a rather anticlimactic end :wall:

I loved Crysis except for the VTOL mission. Couldn't get by it.

The hole thing seemed to get easier towards the end.

I think it was a matter of staying within a certain speed and going in and out of the freeze zones.
