"Thank god I'm a country boy" by John Denver.

Backstory: In the prediagnosis days we decided to take a road trip out west with our (aspie) son who was about 5 at the time. He became so upset with the change in the routine that he started crying all the time. Around Duluth we decided to turn around before our son had some sort of breakdown. The only think that calmed him down was that John Denver song. That song was on repeat the whole way home.
I am glad that it brought comfort to my son, but to this day it makes me physically ill.

I like singing that sounds good. I can't stand singing that the singer is screaming or wavering thier voice. This is embarassing, but i sing.. Not too anybody, but I know how to read music.

"don't worry, be happy" [bobby mcferrin]- every time i hear it i wanna hurl
"wake me up before i go-go" [wham]- ditto
"elvira" [the oak ridge boys] - the bass singer's part is an earworm
"barbara ann" [beach boys] - that falsetto singing gets old real quick-like
"big boys don't cry" [the four seasons] - ditto
"big balls" [ac/dc]
"you can't always get what you want" [rolling stones]- another barf-inducer
"my boyfriend's back" [leslie gore] - a most obnoxious little ditty

Pretty much all popular music. There are a few good ones that get through, but it's usually horrible.

Also (unfortunately), the Beatles. I'm sure I'd enjoy them if not being constantly barraged with people going on with how they're the greatest band ever. Whenever I hear their music, I just hear the screaming fans. The more people try to convince me they're amazing, the less I like them. The less I like them, the more loudly people try to convince me. So on and so forth.

Asides from general Pop music and Kenny G type 'Smoothe Jazz', I thought that the soundtrack to this movie was jarringly annoying:

Incidentally, it was also the first movie soundtrack composed and sequenced on a Fairlight CMI

I despise most pop music. The majority of pop music is designed just to have a few catchy elements aimed at people who lack a developed music taste.

I'd mush rather listen to music that uses more complex carefully thought out rhythms and subtle elements to build up the song more progressively.
