So I'm looking for any suggestions, links, opinions, etc regarding microscopes to be used for looking at plant structures, internal and external. Lets put a price range cap of $500.00 USD though I'm not looking to spend that much, but that would be the max theoretically.

What I'd like to use this for as stated is for looking at plant structures, from external structures, to being able to prepare and view slides under high magnification, specially a medium to high power plug in microscope that has above and below illumination (or accepts modification to make it so), and I'm also interested to hear any suggestions on capturing microscope images via USB cable on a PC.

Thanks for your time and feel free to throw in any other info you care to :)

Edit: Forgot to put in that I'm looking for 30x at the lowest, the main range I'd like to be able to use for viewing would be 100x-1000x+, thanks.
