I was playing NationStates for a while and I suddenly got tired of it. I google phrases like "nationstates for cities" or something else, and I can't find anything. Am I not trying hard enough?

Now back to my original question, how do I create a game (forum only) that is like a NationStates game for cities? I know there are city building games, but I think this is more fun. What do I need to know to make such a game work?

Are you asking how to write internet games? I have no idea either. The only language I know is pascal, but not enough to write games on it. But even if I did, these won't be internet games; just on a single computer. I always wished someone were to teach me to create games.

I have ideas of games that would fulfill my own weird obsessions. Some such ideas are

1) You knkow these games with lots of corridors and monsters there? I want them to be EXPLICITLY basements of some buildings and I want there to be several basements, one below the other. Also it might be interesting to have different basements of different buildings connecting with each other. That would be pretty fascinating, wouuldn't it.

2) I wish that when a player gets "kicked out" of a game, he should be forced to leave the room as opposed to simply haveing to wait a while. After all, at school when the student messes up he has to LEAVE the classroom. One way of doing this would be for the computer screen to emit the UV radiation, so that the person would have to leave the room for the sake of their own health.

Since I clearly have no time to learn to write computer games, can someone who is computer savy write such a game for me?

theres a program out there called RPGmaker that lets you make your own rpg game.

Graphics are really crude but ive seen people do some really amazing stories, dungeons and stuff with it.

If you want an RP forum, then you can create a forum with forum-hosting services such as Proboards and Zetaboards.

Thats a vague question.
But game design was an obsession of mine for a long time so im curious.

I dont know if you mean a board game (with maps, markers, and dice) or a computer game.
But either way I would design it as a board game first, and then try to computerize it if that where you want to take the idea.

Do mean modern American type cities- simulate being a city manager/mayor ( sex scandals and crack smoking optional).

Or do you mean ancient city-states?

The city states of Classical Greece, or Renaissance Northern Italy were soveriegn kingdoms or republics with standing armies and the like.

I intended to modern American cities, just like LA, Dallas, etc. The player doesn't need a big city.

Okay, so what would be goals of the players in this game?

If you're competing against other players- presumebly in the guise of rival cities- what would constitute victory?

Is this like "Farmville"- just growing a city like a crop?
Or is it like chess, monopoly, or the civilization game, in which conquer territory at the expense of your opponets?

Explain your vision of this.

I'm sorry I never replied to this thread earlier. I don't know to be honest, about the player's goals. I may put this on the back burner for now.
