Weird display on WP

WP do not display itself like usual. It's weird...

Nevermind the picture...
The blue and green stripes are gone and it's all white.

Things have turned back to normal, go figure...

I occasionally get the same thing, and we are not alone ...

there is something weird running in the background that slows everything to a crawl on wrong planet. when i try to type something in the dialog box for posting, the keyboard is very balky and half the keystrokes result in nothing being printed. when i hit backspace, it stutters instead of smoothly erasing a line of text. when i activate task manager to see what it is that is doing the dirt, it is not descriptive in the least. while all this is happening, the hard drive light is continuously lit and the hard drive is noisily chugging away. only when i turn off IE totally do things calm down. it has gotten to the point where i must first compose my missives in wordpad, then copy and paste into WP. what gives here?
