I understand most operating system have underlying command line interface.

Windows 3.11,95,98,me All run on DOS

MAC OS X runs on UNIX

KDE GNOME and other window managers run on Linux and even unix

SOLARIS 10.1 possibly other versions. UNIX

But what about the Windows NT kernal OSes??????

Microsoft has got us there!! !

It's supposed that next version of Windows 2003 Server, Longhorn Server, if you want you will be able to use it without GUI.
