anyone else get hacked this morning?

i did, i'm writing this with an on screen keyboard... because this hacker screwed with my keyboard, it's bluetooth and i've tried everything, batteries are good, usb ports are fine, i even completely reinstalled my keyboard... nothing worked.

now all i can think about is how am i going to play minecraft or fallout 3 like this.

i didn't explain it much because typing on this virtual keyboard is a pain, my computer was acting weird i tried to load rhapsody and it wouldn't load, i tried a few other programs but same thing. and i notice my wireless net bars had a ! on it and when i went into network on control panel it froze, so i tried to restart but it wouldn't get past logging off screen. so i had to pull the plug.

when i loaded it back up my keyboard was dead, so i uninstalled and reinstalled it, and i went into hardware manager to uninstall it. the add a device thing couldn't recognize it but it found the usb plug and the usb plug recognized it and was even able to download and install the drivers but it still does not work.

also i only have free avast and the windows firewall as my defense that's it, it had norton but it went into a damn fit and uninstalled itself, so yeah if it wasn't a hacking attempt it was a virus.

Stuff goes wrong sometimes. While I understand what it's like to get paranoid and jump to the worst scenario when stuff like this happens, remember there are other possible explanations.

Get a cheap USB keyboard, make sure your security stuff is up to date and run some scans. Check your firewall logs and see if there's anything suspicious. If you still don't feel comfortable, back up your documents and reinstall your operating system. Perhaps use the opportunity to install something more secure like Linux.

i wasn't blaming anyone for my computer problems, i just wanted to know if i was the only one, but yeah just the keyboard was messed up, it's one by rocketfish. i'm getting a new one on amazon.

but i'm not sure how anyone would benifit at all hacking me, i've got nothing anyone but me would want, but it is a common thing for me. after i shut it down the the problems i had stopped. i am out one keyboard but this thing gave me headaches anyway. new one has a wire and buttons the light up in the dark, all for 30$ total it has media controls and i can go back to using my compy with the lights off. so actually a good thing.

i may not like getting hacked, but at least it got me off by butt to buy one, this one was only for temporary anyway, my old one was on it's last legs so i resorted to using this one, found out it was keyboard from hell, i looked it up online when it started giving me grief. it's not compatible and they aren't making the needed drivers. i just glad i didn't buy it, my dad is a shopaholic in best buy he will buy anything i swear. sometimes it's ok, but he buys this he doesn't need.

ebay is worse, i am not kidding when i say he took out a loan to buy a pink satarn sky showroom edition, off ebay. i'm not kidding it's in the garage where his big tractor used to sit, i can get pics.

It is extremely uncommon for people to hack into an ordinary person's computer, so I can almost guarantee to you that's not what happened. It just sounds like you got a virus (or viruses).

If you can't use that computer to do anything, like get some anti-virus software to get rid of the virus, then I'd recommend to get Hiren's BootCD, which runs independently from Windows, and can remove the virus(es). You can either burn it onto a CD or make a bootable thumb drive. Making a CD is easier, since you'll need special software to make a thumb drive bootable.

Once you use several of the anti-virus tools on the CD, boot back into Windows and it should work. I've been using Hiren's BootCD for years, and have successfully used it to reverse complete and utter destruction of the OS by viruses, so it should work.
