I just have to vent here.

Stupid fracking Google earth!! !
I lost 2 hours of work because it doesn't have any kind of an autosave feature.
My aspie obsession is maps. I was in my happy little aspie world doing my thing drawing something extensive and detailed in Google earth. The the dang program locks up on me and stops responding. I wait a long time hoping it would recover (sometimes it does). But this time it didn't and I had to have windows force it closed, causeing me to lose everything I did in the past 2 hours. UGH!! !!

The only times Google earth saves the "my places" is when you manually tell it to or when the program properly exits.

I hate it when stuff like this happens.

But what do you expect from a free program?
And I should have remembered to save more often, but that's why the concept of autosave was created, because people get caught up in what they are doing and forget to manually save.

Of course, I'm sure Google didn't have autistics with a map obsession in mind when they created this program.
The y probably weren't expecting people like me drawing extensive, detailed overlays with thousands of individual path objects.

When I first started messing with Linux, I would install, get everything the way I wanted it, transfer all my files, and then render it unbootable by trying to change 'one little thing'. I did it probably ten times or more.
I have since learned how to recover with a live USB, but it was very frustrating to wreck six hours of effort in a few keystrokes. I almost gave up and went back to Windoze, convinced that Linux was just unstable. Turns out it was just user error, now I'm glad I stuck with it.
