Hello!

If you're in the USA and you're thinking of (or already have) an iPhone and/or doing (or plan to do) business with AT&T, this article might interest you:

http://news.yahoo.com/iphone-thieves-ap ... 43188.html

You see, people were stupid enough to buy iPhones (and get them through AT&T) in the first place, and now they're all whining, because Apple and AT&T aren't helping people who bought them in the recovery of their phones if they get stolen AT ALL. Instead, in the push to sell more phones, they are helping the people who steal them by replacing them, or trading them for replacement ones at a discount.

I see this developing into a class action lawsuit that's going to cause Apple and AT&T a LOT of grief. It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks, IMHO.

Needless to say, as a Windows Mobile user on Verizon, I can't seem to help but to LMAO! I learned my lesson about why one should avoid doing business with these two firms YEARS ago.

I see the iPhone as an inferior ripoff that was inspired by Windows Mobile, the original Smartphone. As all this unfolds, what I witness is an epidemic of stupidity on the part of the millions who were not only suckered into buying anything Apple, but also into taking that stupidity to the next level by having ANYTHING to do with AT&T!

Hopefully, this will result in some eyes being opened to the truth. May people realize that the current 'hip' phone is NOT always the best choice, and can sometimes be the worst.

Have A Great Day!

Rob

A plague on both their houses: I use neither.

I stand corrected. Thank you.

I am aware that nowadays, WM/WP has a very limited market share. That's Microsoft's fault. By the time they stopped 'resting on their laurels' and proceeded to advance the device further, it was too late. The competition had already moved on to the next level.

I don't like the newest Windows Phones. When my current one dies, I'll probably move to some form of Android phone.

Have A Great Day!

Microsoft's performance with smartphones is an interesting demonstration of how poorly they compete in an open marketplace where they've not established a monopolistic grip.
The emperor has no clothes.

I saw this article elsewhere recently. It's nonsense. Apple's backend staff instore check things like who the phone was originally registered to and, if the guy claiming the phone has a fault seems suspicious for any reason, they will contact the local authorities who will follow up on it.

There is no reason for Apple Store staff themselves to play detective, after all - they're tech support, not Sherlock Holmes.

Funny, smartphones, as we know them today, didn't exist before the iPhone. There were Windows phones that ran Windows CE (not really the same platform as today's Windows Mobile by a long shot), Blackberries, and PalmPilots; but Apple radically changed the PDA/phone combination.

True dat. If there'd been no iPhone, we'd still be using Windows Mobile 6.5.
