I was four windows open: WrongPlanet, imdb, youtube, and google search for "news". I often have as many as eight windows open. Best guess is asking for 'more' on imdb did it and trying to open new google window at the same time.

Trying different things on iphone Settings did not unfreeze it.

What worked was turning my phone completely off and then back on today. :bigsmurf: (even though I had a whole conversation with someone on the phone while Safari was apparently still frozen)

Anyone had similar experiences?

Yep, it's happened to me twice now - in 2 years. First time it happened I was near the shop so went in and told the guy who told me to do what you did, switch off and back on again. That worked, both times. Must be some kind of minor glitch.

If it keeps happening, more of a problem though.

Yes, try the following:

Tap the home key once.
Double tap the home key to get the multi tasking bar at bottom of screen.
Find the safari icon on the bottom of the screen.
Push and hold the safari icon till it "wobbles"
When it wobbling hit the x to close safari.

This is a bit faster than a full power off and on.
